So we’ve collated a list of the 18 best Samsung Galaxy Watch apps on the market so that you can cut the browsing time and make the most of them.
How to Download Samsung Galaxy Watch Apps With Your Smartphone
You can install, modify, and remove applications on your smartwatch just as you do on your phone. Using the Galaxy Wearable app on your smartphone, customize your smartwatch to suit your requirements and tastes.
Using the Galaxy Wearable app on your smartphone, customize your smartwatch to suit your requirements and tastes. When managing applications on your smartwatch, you may also change specific settings.
Note that depending on the provider, phone, or watch, the available displays and settings may differ. The Galaxy Fit does not have these features.
Go to the Galaxy Store app on your connected smartphone, then touch the Watch tab to explore watch applications. When you’ve found the app you’re looking for, touch it and then hit Install. It will be installed on your watch immediately.
You may also use Samsung Galaxy Watch to install watch applications (iOS). After installing the app, go to the Discover menu and touch it. Then, under highlighted watch applications, tap View more to see all of the available choices. Simply touch it and then hit Install after you’ve found one.
It’s also very simple to update your watch’s applications!
How much space do apps take up?
The apps for the Galaxy Watch are all optimized to make the smartwatch experience smoother. These seamless apps from the official Android app store usually tael 1-10MB of the watch’s storage. These apps are designed to run without affecting the memory or running of your watch, however, be mindful of how many you download! You can easily delete apps you no longer need by tapping the delete icon.
The Top Apps:
Find My Phone
Having a smartwatch that pairs up with your phone is a great thing. An even better thing is having an app that can locate your phone when you’ve had a long day and put it somewhere you just can’t remember. It’s also a great security feature in case someone tried to swipe your phone.
The best part? Like many of the apps, this one is free!
Player4YouTube
It used to be that the only way you could watch YouTube from your smartwatch was by using the Samsung Internet app (we get into that later.) Now you can go ahead and download Player4YouTube and watch YouTube videos straight from your watch! This has been one of the best apps to combat the annoyance of not being able to easily access YouTube like other devices! But now you can!
Yandex Translate
Traveling abroad Or do you have a language barrier at work or school? No need because Yandex Translate is a great way to combat this. The app supports 85 different languages that are commonly used around the world. This has made traveling so much easier and less stressful!
Samsung Health
While we have another option for a health and fitness app for you later on it is worth checking out the app for health that was built by Samsung. While you are able to monitor your sleeping habits and quality, you can also do the basic things like keep track of the calories you are burning on a daily basis.
The app has a variety of fitness activities that you can log to make things more specific to your own health journey. You can also take all this information and sync it up with your smartphones so that you can have access to it everywhere.
ToDo Manager
Spending too much time creating big lists of to-do’s never gets anywhere very far. However, when it becomes simplified and available to your 24/7 but just checking out your wrist, you can see that things suddenly become a lot more efficient. And a lot more get’s done.
The ToDo Manager is a task app that lets you organize your list quickly. It also syncs up with your Reminder App so that you don’t feel like you need to look towards one or the other if you are missing something.
Spotify
Samsung and Spotify have a good relationship so it’s s no surprise that the Spotify app is first on our list.
Samsung offers full Spotify support allowing users of the app to access their recently played songs, select their own playlists or check out the top Spotify charts. For Premium Spotify users, Samsung also offers offline playback support. All of this makes the Spotify app the first choice for anyone who wishes to listen to music through their Samsung smartwatch.
Uber
Picking up an Uber ride is easy with the Uber app on your Samsung Watch. The simplicity of being able to get a ride from your wrist is one of the reasons this is one of the better Samsung Galaxy Watch apps.
The screen is not too small to drag the map around when selecting a pickup spot and the rotating bezel allows for zooming in and out. It’s easy to select a pickup spot and then simply wait for your ride to arrive.
Facer
The Samsung Galaxy Watch comes equipped with some fantastic watch faces. But if you want something different, the Facer app gives much more variety. Facer’s comprehensive library has many free faces to choose from or a set of paid-for faces that can truly personalize your watch and make it special to you.
Here WeGo
Here WeGo is one of the more popular map apps in the Samsung Galaxy Store. Probably because it offers interactive, real-time maps with clear audio navigation and notifications.
What’s more, there’s offline map support. You can get traffic updates which are handy if you’re in a new place and want to know how long a taxi will take to get from A to B. Though, don’t expect it to be the same quality as Google Maps.
Flipboard News Briefing
It’s easy to keep up to date with the news by checking in on your Samsung Phone or even setting your phone to send you notifications, but with Flipboard News Briefing installed you’ll have the news on your wrist in an easy to read format. It is easy to set up and use, and in no time at all you’ll be wondering why you ever used to take your phone out of your pocket to check the news.
An app called ‘Watch Viewer for Twitter’ allows you to read your feed on your wrist in a nice and simple display. What’s more, you can check out other peoples’ profiles including their follower count.
Though this isn’t an official Android app, it’s got great reviews, especially when used on a Galaxy Watch 3.
Samsung Internet
If you forget to take your phone with you, it’s somewhere in the bottom of your bag, or you just want to look something up really quickly, the Galaxy watch gives you the option to surf the web on your watch.
Samsung Internet certainly won’t be replacing tablets or smartwatches for ease of web browsing but it definitely offers an adequate alternative for a quick Google search.

Waste Time!
If you’re bored and it isn’t a good time to have your phone out then use Gear Tac Toe. Essentially, this is noughts and crosses that you can play on your watch.
Interestingly, it has 3 different levels of difficulty so when you’re finding it all too easy, you can kick it up a gear so the boredom doesn’t come back.
Gear Voice Memo
Forget sticky note reminders – voice memos are quick to record and much more versatile.
With Gear Voice Memo, Samsung Galaxy smartwatch users have access to a powerful voice recorder on their wrists. Once downloaded, users just tap the screen to begin recording and again once they have finished. Along with the recording, the watch app also provides a transcription and both will automatically be synced with your phone.
Find My Car
Have you ever spent far too long wandering around a car park because you couldn’t remember where you left your car? You’re not alone! When you leave your car, tap your watch to save your location into the Find My Car app and it will guide you straight back to it. There’s a counter to let you know how far away you are and the app also lets you record a voice memo as a reminder, too.
Samsung Speedometer
If you are training for a run, or you’re a cyclist and want to know your speed, then the Samsung Speedometer can help you out. The app calculates speed by using GPS data and also allows for journeys to be saved. It’s great to keep track of your training but also a fun app for if you just want to challenge your mates to see who is actually the fastest!
SmartThings
SmartThings is the name for the ever-increasing array of smart devices that Samsung produces, most of which make life easier in the home. Any compatible device will show up in the app where the status can be checked and the device controlled via your watch.
Similarly, control your smart lighting
Specifically for Hue users, you can use your smartwatch to control your Philips Hue smart lights in your home. Simply use the rotating bezel on the watch to switch lights, colours, brightness and scenes!
Map My Run
Smartwatches and fitness seem to go hand in hand so we had to include an exercise app into our Top 15 for 2021.
Samsung has forged a successful relationship with Under Armor which has led to a suite of fitness watch apps being made available. For the Samsung Galaxy Watch, Map My Run offers a simple but effective GPS tracker so wearers can track their distance, speed and other fitness data. The Premium membership for Map My Run comes as standard for a year will every Samsung Galaxy watch.
Strava
Strava is one of the most popular and versatile fitness apps for those who are specifically into cycling and running. You can use the app on your Samsung smartwatch to monitor some very acute data about your training activities.
Though Samsung has its own health app, Strava is wildly popular across all kinds of devices. In fact, we’ve compiled a list of the best Strava compatible smartwatches, here.
If you are looking for apps specific to running, check out our review of the best here. If health tracking is your priority, it’s worth mentioning the Samsung Active 2. You can compare the Galaxy 3 vs Active 2 here.

Camera One
The Camera One app is great for anyone into photography. This Galaxy Watch app lets you control your smartphone camera via your wrist! When you open this app, you see the camera view from your phone. You also have the ability to switch from front to rear camera without fuss – perfect for group photos and selfies.
With this app, you can control a range of camera features, including camera zoom, video recordings, flash settings, and a timer for hands-free photos too. You can even edit the pictures and videos too. Never miss an Instagram opportunity again!
Bixby
The Bixby app can turn your smartwatch into a hands-free device. This Galaxy Watch app allows you to use your voice to perform general functions instead of tapping on the screen. “Hey Bixby” wakes the app up and allows you to voice control your watch. This is a similar premise to Alexa and Siri, but you need to be connected to the internet to use the app.
Calculator
Calculators always come in handy, whether you’re good at quick maths or not. The Samsung Galaxy Watch calculator app is perfect for those moments where you need to get a quick sum done. With a calculator on your wrist, you’ll never be stuck when it comes to adding up!
Samsung Galaxy Watch Apps – Final Thought
Having a Samsung Galaxy Watch means that you have access to these top apps, plus a whole lot more. The great thing about a smartwatch is you choose how to make it fit your life!

Many thanks

Is there a ways to best separate the watch from the phone? My watch was working fine until the update, now it wants to allow access to pictures and info on my phone, which I do not want to give. Now the apps have stopped working. Is there a way to bypass this?
