Check out some of their review here: Amazfit Stratos 3, Amazfit GTS, Amazfit GTR, Amazfit Nexo and Amazfit Verge Lite. Appearance And Design
The Amazfit BIP Lite is an ultra-lightweight smartwatch with a screen size of 1.28 inches. It has a reflective Always-On display which provides a crisp and clear outlook of your health and fitness data. The Corning Gorilla glass makes it scratch-free while the transflective screen allows you to view your screen even under sunlight.
The band comes with a 20mm detachable and highly stretchy strap which is made from silicone to provide comfort and security. The BIP Lite is made to withstand daily usage for fitness and everyday life. It weighs around 32g with its strap and its body is made from a polycarbonate casing. It also has a power on and off button on its side for quick and easy access.
This is where the Amazfit BIP Lite really shines. The smartwatch has a usage time of 1.5 months, or 45 days. You can easily recharge its lithium-polymer battery within 2.5 hours to continue on tracking as per your requirements. The power features actually outlasts many, if not most, higher end brands which only last a few weeks. If you want to prolong usage, the watch can on standby for approximately 120 days in a single charge.
The watch’s impressive battery only makes sense with the advantages from its usage. While being on the affordable end, it provides a surprising number of features which are generally missing amongst similarly priced models. For some this may seem very basic but it really depends where you are coming from and what your needs are. Its stand outs are as follows:
Four Basic Workout Modes With GPS
One of the major concerns of fitness trackers is the limited activity recognition they provide. The calories you burn from cycling vary from running and the distinction can help you understand your fitness capabilities better. With that understanding, Amazfit continues to provides distinction of activities within the BIP Lite. The activities it tracks includes:
It is important to note that GPS tracking is available through a Bluetooth connection with your phone. Therefore, you will need to have your devices in range in order to get the benefits of GPS.
Another usual missing feature in more affordably priced smartwatches is water resistance. BIP Lite is waterproof within depths of 30 meters giving you the ability to track your swimming sessions. Additionally, you can also take a shower with the smartwatch on without any hesitation.
Notifications and Alarms
The smartwatch will update you on any calls, messages or notifications it receives on your phone. You can switch on Do Not Disturb mode to minimize distractions or at night time. The notifications you receive can be customized through the Amazfit App; however, you cannot respond through the watch itself. Additionally, alarms can also be set to provide you gentle nudges as reminders or wake-up vibrations.
In order to be a holistic health assessment device, the BIP Lite has to do more than just track your physical levels. It has a built-in heart rate measurement sensor to get a comprehensive insight of your daily heart behavior. It can be used to identify intensity of your workouts, for health evaluation or to yourself informed of your normal heart rate zones.
You can use Bluetooth to connect with your phone’s audio playback app to listen to music on the go. It currently supports Apple Music, Spotify and SoundCloud; but may not work with the default Android player. You can perform basic functions like toggling between songs, volumes and playback.
|Main Advantages||Main Disadvantages|
|Comfortable, sporty design||Limited features|
|Impressive battery life||Only four activity modes|
|Waterproof||No on-device GPS tracking|
|Accurate activity tracking|
Overall, the BIP Lite is an excellent budget smartwatch which can be reliably used to gauge your current fitness level and lifestyle quality. It provides the four basic workout modes which most people hitting the gym or leading a reasonably fitness-oriented routine would come across; while providing Huami’s standard assessment regarding the collected data. It might not be suitable for more advanced users who might need more modes or a built-in GPS Tracker to help gain more accurate information. If you’re on a budget, however, the Amazfit BIP Lite could be just the thing you’re looking for.
