Apple Watch 8
The Apple Watch Series 8 has been released in September of 2022, together with the iPhone 14.
We’ve got everything you want to know about the Apple Watch 8 in this article here. Both the 8 and the new Apple Watch Ultra are more rugged, with a more modern design, faster chipset and, most importantly, more medical features such as temperature monitoring. This feature allows for closer monitoring of female ovulation which can be important.
The Apple Watch 8 is definitely the best out there in terms of compatibility with Apple phones. We also believe it is more suited for women than its bigger brother – the Ultra, which is not as stylish because of its rugged appearance. In the end, it also depends on what women want… With the 8 you could always get the 41mm model which is more suitable for female wrists. Another advantage of the Apple Watch 8 is that coupled with Watch OS9, it comes with a low power mode that can extend battery life up to 36 hours.
Apple Watch 7
On September 14 2021, Apple Watch 7 was unveiled alongside the iPhone 13, heralding a significant redesign for the company’s watch line. We now know more about what to expect from the wearable device, which will be available late last year (Q3 2021). It appears to be a succession of minor adjustments.
The Apple Watch 7 boasts a bigger screen, rounded corners, and slimmer bezels than the previous model. It’s also available in two new sizes: 41mm and 45mm. This is the first major update since the Apple Watch 2’s 40mm and 44mm sizes were increased. However, the changes were not as profound as we had hoped.
Despite rumours of a more radical redesign to a flat-edged design like the iPhone 13, we’re still in the round-edge territory.
Apple has also ruled out the inclusion of other health-tracking features, such as blood pressure and glucometer sensors, which are set to appear in the Apple Watch 8 later this year. The Apple Watch 7 appears to provide no significant improvements over its predecessor.
The Apple Watch 7 has a 70% brighter Always-On display, IP6X dust protection, water resistance comparable to previous generations, and greater durability. Despite having the same battery life (18 hours), the battery recharges 33 per cent faster.
After the Apple Watch 6, the company’s next watch is the Apple Watch 7. While the Apple Watch SE 2 is still in the works, the Apple Watch SE remains the most affordable wearable in Apple’s lineup.

Apple Watch SE 2
This watch is an upgrade of the SE, and it is a credible contender in the Apple range. Not only does it have the most features Apple watches offer, but the new SE 2 is also 20% faster that the previous generation and offers crash detection found only on the 8 (and Ultra). It’s also got a new optical heart rate sensor for more accurate monitoring. What it lacks is the temperature sensor, always on display, ECG and SPO2. Still, it is a great entry point and offers many things Apple Watches do.

WatchOS 9
The new WatchOS 9 will be compatible with the Apple Watch 7,8 , as well as the Apple Watch 4 and later wearables.
Despite the fact that it isn’t a revolution, the Apple Watch 8 is still the best Apple Watch money can buy.
Price
Models
The Apple Watch 7 is available in 41mm and 45mm GPS-only and 4G LTE sizes, in addition to the normally small and large sizes, with costs starting at $399 for the 41mm GPS-only model.
When you buy the Apple Watch 7, you can choose from a range of colours. There are five new aluminium finishes to choose from: midnight (black), starlight (grey), green, blue, and (PRODUCT)RED. The Nike Sport Loop now comes in three new colours, and there are new Hermès Apple Watch bands.
What Does the Apple Watch 6 Offer?
The Apple Watch 6 was an upgrade from the Apple Watch 5 and offers new features that include sleep tracking and SpO2 monitoring. These watches are an excellent choice for the woman in your life. They come in 40mm and 44mm screens and can be customized to suit their individual style.
Apple works hard to provide high-quality health and fitness tracking so that you can record your menstrual cycle, log your exercise and keep track of your daily steps. There are many design choices to get the watch case and strap of her style choice.
Apple Watch Series 5
The Apple Watch 5 is no longer the most recent Apple Watch; the Apple Watch 6 now holds that title (and the cheaper Apple Watch SE). So, if you’re looking for Apple’s top-tier smartwatch, seek elsewhere; to see how it compares to the new model, see our Apple Watch 6 versus Apple Watch 5 comparison.
Not only is this not the most recent Apple Watch, but the Apple Watch 5 was one of Apple’s most lacklustre updates to date. It’s simply the Watch 4 – undoubtedly one of our finest smartwatches – plus a compass, extra cellular bands to summon emergency services throughout the globe (a great accomplishment, but not one that will drive consumers to buy it) and not much more.
Display
Oh, and the screen no longer turns off, instead of fading to an ambient, always-on display when you’re not looking at it directly. Apple has corrected one of its smartwatch’s main flaws, and it’s by far the most important feature of this latest model.
The always-on display is quite convenient, and we soon became used to checking the time on the Watch. It’s really a touch too bright, as it lights a little too brightly in low light, thus we found ourselves turning off the always-on function on a frequent basis.
Design
The design of the Watch 5 is identical to that of the previous year’s model, which isn’t surprising considering that 2018 saw a major makeover. Ceramic and titanium choices have been added to the 40mm and 44mm Watch ranges (for various wrist sizes), and they look great, but at a premium price.
Fitness features
The Watch 5’s fitness features weren’t significantly upgraded, but it’s still a great health tracker: the heart rate monitor is accurate, an ECG function provides additional heart health monitoring, and the integrated GPS is quite accurate (although not quite as high-performing as on dedicated running watches).
To fill up those all-important rings that record your daily active activity, you may swim, undertake high-intensity interval training, bike, and even practise yoga with the Watch 5. All of this is true, though, of the somewhat smaller Watch 3, which is less expensive and is still available from Apple.
Other features
The Watch 5’s music and podcast playing is excellent, and with 32GB of storage (up from 16GB last year), you can download more Apple Music songs or podcasts – but putting material onto the Watch is still a challenge.
A noise metre and cycle tracking for women are two of our favourite new features in WatchOS 7: you can protect your hearing and receive improved period and fertility forecasts directly from your wrist, with both capabilities feeling smooth and practical in a wristwatch.
Battery life
Unsurprisingly, battery life is the biggest issue encountered on the Watch 5, with the always-on display pulling more life out of the smartwatch. The Watch 4 could easily last more than 24 hours, but the Watch 5 falls short.
The Watch 5 is basically an update over the Watch 4, with extra storage, a compass, and an always-on display.
Though it does excel in several areas, and it’s another really capable wristwatch, the Apple Watch 5 seems like an uninspiring improvement, and we’d recommend the now-affordable Watch 3 as a wonderful option.
Apple Watch Series 3
The Apple Watch 3 (or Apple Watch Series 3 if you’re being picky) has been supplanted numerous times, most recently by the Apple Watch 6 and Apple Watch SE – the latter of which, since they’re both affordable versions, might be a serious competitor.
However, the Apple Watch 3 is still available for purchase on Apple’s official store, which is more than we can say about the Apple Watch 4 or even the Apple Watch 5, and it is currently substantially discounted. In terms of specs and capabilities, it’s on pace with the current Apple Watch SE, but at a lesser price.
That price might fall even lower around Black Friday when older devices like the Apple Watch 3 are often discounted. When Amazon Prime Day begins on June 21, check out our guide to discover what to look for in Apple Watch bargains.
The Watch 3 comes in two versions: one with a cellular connection and the other with just GPS. With built-in run and cycle tracking, a water-resistant case for swimming, and the same heart rate sensor on the bottom as the Apple Watch Series 2, this gadget was the flag-bearer for fitness and durability.
While newer versions have greater capabilities and faster chipsets, Apple has continued to support the Apple Watch 3 with software upgrades, the most current of which is watchOS 8, which includes sleep monitoring, new workouts, and much more. Get the Apple watch 3 on eBay here, or try Amazon below.
Is the Apple Watch SE a Good Purchase for women?
If you are new to Apple, then spending a lot of money on the Series 6 may be off-putting until you are sure that it is right for your needs. However, the Apple Watch SE gives you the insight you need without costing more than you want to spend. Compare the SE to the 6 here.
The SE does not come with the SpO2 monitor or the ECG, but other than this, you can look forward to the full Apple experience. We were impressed with the speed of the SE and the brightness of the display. They also win points with the health and fitness capabilities that help women stay in shape.

If you choose the Apple Watch 6, then why not consider choosing the Nike Apple Watch collaboration? Not only does it look great, but it’s the perfect choice for any active woman. Each of these watches comes with an exclusive Nike app that will help her get fit and stay healthy.
In addition to the app and fitness focus, the Nike Apple watch comes with many great straps to choose from. All you need to do is pick the watch casing and pair it with the strap of her style.
Enjoy Luxury With the Hermes Apple Watch
If the woman in your life appreciates the finer things, then why not consider buying a Hermes Apple Watch 6? These watches combine the form and functionality of the Apple Watch and present it with stunning leather straps.
The wonderful thing about Apple watches for women are the dozens of options and customization. There is even the double strap option that wraps twice around the wrist to give a beautiful and stylish finish. However, if your woman wants to combine style with her fitness needs, then you invest in the Hermes sports edition. This watch comes with a black stainless steel watch and orange silicone band – the Hermes signature color.
Which Apple Watch Strap Should You Choose For Women?
We love the Apple Watch 6 and SE because the straps change to suit your style. There are many colourful silicone option choices and braided, nylon leather, and stainless steel options.
If you want to explore beyond Apple, there are a large number of straps from third-party sellers. Finally, if there are no straps that you like anywhere, why not invest in some strap converters? These converters are not expensive and allow you a wider choice than ever before.
Find the Right Accessories for Your New Apple Watch
Finding the right Apple Watch is just one part of the puzzle – picking the right accessories is the next! Apple accessories are big business, which means that if you have ever thought about an accessory, it probably already exists!
From portable power banks to travel cases and sport chest straps to watch cases, there are a wide number of add-ons that you can invest in to help her make the most from her new device. Plus, when you have found the watch she loves, you can always use the accessories as gift inspiration when you are feeling stuck.
Which Apple Watch is Best for Women?
Working out the best Apple Watches for women is not as straightforward as it may sound because both devices are an excellent choice. We love the SE 2 as it offers the vast majority of Apple Watch features, comes with colourful straps, and costs less than you may be expecting. It also performs well and looks great in both the 40mm and 44mm screen sizes.
However, the Series 6 offers everything you could ever need from a fitness device, including ECG and SpO2 capabilities. This watch is not only packed full of features but is accurate and dependable, making it a great choice for any woman. Plus, there are collaborations with Nike and Hermes to help you personalize the watch to suit her style perfectly.
Whichever Apple Watches for women you are considering, take the time to work out what she needs from a watch and then pick the device that can meet them – she is sure to thank you when she receives her new watch!
Apple Watch FAQ
What kind of Apple Watches does Apple offer?
The Apple Watch Series 7, Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch SE, and Apple Watch Series 3 are the four Apple Watch models presently available. It’s the most extensive collection of Apple Watches the firm has ever offered.
(The original Apple Watch, Series 1, Series 2, Series 4, and Series 5 have all been discontinued by Apple.) However, you can find them used or refurbished – Apple even offers them in its own Refurbished Store.)
The sheer diversity of Apple Watches does not, however, end with the various iterations. Each Watch comes in a variety of case materials (aluminium, stainless steel, titanium), colours, screen sizes, straps, and GPS or cellular choices. The possibilities are nearly limitless (or it feels that way when you are trying to work out the various prices).
We go through how to address some of the most frequent and vexing issues that iPhone users have during or after an iOS 15 update.
Read Reasons Not to Buy Apple Watch Series 7 and Reasons to Buy Apple Watch Series 7 for further information about your purchase.
What models are there?
The latest models vary in terms of features and specifications. There are also some material and colour differences: the Series 3 and SE are only available in aluminium (silver or Space Grey for the Series 3, plus gold for the SE), while the Series 7 is available in green, blue, red, starlight, and midnight aluminium.
Stainless steel (silver, graphite, or gold – both Watch 6 and Watch 7) and titanium are also available for Apple Watches (titanium or Space Black for both watches).
What sizes are there?
The Apple Watches that are now available come in a variety of sizes. The dimensions below correspond to the height of the casing rather than the diagonal of the screen, which is a little confusing. Each Apple Watch has a big and small screen size; individuals with tiny hands may prefer a smaller watch face, but keep in mind that the Series 7’s larger watch face was made possible by lowering the bezels surrounding the screen, not by making the Watch larger.
The SE is available in two sizes: 44mm and 40mm (as does the discontinued Series 6).
The Series 3 comes in two sizes: 42mm and 38mm.
What strap options are there?
Each watch comes with a variety of straps, which further confuses the cost. Nike’s sports straps and Hermes’ fashion straps are two options for the well-heeled.
Can you get LTE versions?
You may pick whether you want to pay extra for cellular connection on the Series 7 and SE, or whether you’re fine with GPS alone. The Series 3 does not yet have a cellular version (unless you buy a second-hand device).
Should I buy an Apple watch now?
Apple usually announces new watches in the fall, so the announcement of the Apple Watch Series 7 in September 2021 came as no surprise. The Apple Watch 7th generation is now available for purchase.
Obviously, the optimum time to buy is dependent on when you want to get an Apple Watch.
We anticipate the arrival of the Apple Watch 8 this fall.
How does Apple incident detection work?
The entire Apple Watch Series has been a game-changer for assistive technology. However, before you can appreciate how this watch can benefit women, you must first understand the smartwatch’s cutting-edge technology.
This technology employs an accelerometer and gyroscope capable of measuring up to 32 g-force. If a loved one falls, the fall detection system can detect it and contact assistance instantly.
Fall detection
There is a lot of interest in how fall detection works. The gyroscope and accelerometer technologies in medical alert devices enable automatic fall detection. They are capable of monitoring your everyday activities and alerting you when you fall. Moreover, it may also be integrated into other devices you own, such as a smartwatch. Accelerometers measure changes in velocity or speed over time.
Consider how your screen’s orientation changes as your smartphone’s location changes. That is a demonstration of accelerometer technology in action! According to LiveScience, a gyroscope is a device that uses gravity to determine its orientation. When both of these apps are used concurrently, they may be particularly effective at detecting falls in the senior age category.
Although similar tech has been available in smartphones for some time, the Apple Watch lays claim to proprietary algorithms that more accurately detect when a person has fallen. Historically, automated fall detection has been criticised for not always accurately detecting falls; according to a recent study, it missed 12 out of every 15 “true falls”.
If the user becomes immobile, the new Apple Watch capability prompts the user to indicate whether they are fine or wish to contact emergency services. If there is no activity for more than 60 seconds, it will immediately alert emergency services and relay your location to your emergency contacts. In these types of emergency situations, prompt assistance can frequently save a life.
What models have fall detection?
Apple Watches have had fall detection since the Series 4 generation, and each successive generation has improved on the feature. The Series 7 brought further enhancements to the fall detection system. It enhanced the algorithm and technologies to increase its precision.
If the Series 7 detects a significant fall, it preserves the watch’s alert, allowing users to summon emergency services directly from the watch. However, with the addition of Series 7 fall detection technology, the watch can now detect when the user falls while exercising, taking walks, bike rides, and even Zumba classes safer.
Is fall detection an option on the Apple Watch without cellular connectivity?
Cellular connectivity will be required for Fall Detection to make emergency calls and send messages to emergency contacts. This can be accomplished via your iPhone (as long as it is within Bluetooth range) or the Apple Watch (but only if the LTE version is used). Or, it must be connected to a recognised Wi-Fi network.
The Apple Watch Series 3 and 4 do not need an iPhone connection to contact emergency services. They are equipped with cellular and GPS capabilities. Apple Watch Series 5 and later models are equipped with GPS but not with cellular capability.
This means that if you own an Apple Watch with cellular capabilities, you can use it to notify emergency contacts and make emergency calls. If, however, you do not own the cellular version, you will require an iPhone.
Fall Detection will not work unless your Apple Watch is connected to your iPhone, regardless of whether you have a cellular plan. This feature has been incorporated in every Apple Watch model since the device’s inception.
Will it work automatically once connected to cellular or wi-fi?
This feature will activate automatically unless you are 55 or older, and entered your age during the Apple Watch setup process or in the Health app. Verify that the Medical ID and Health Profile interfaces appropriately display your age.
Under the age of 55, users must configure the Apple Watch, link it to a Wi-Fi network, and enable the Fall Detection feature.
Assistance and accessibility
Throughout its history, Apple has made a point of emphasising how accessible its technology is to everyone, including the ability to accommodate a wide range of accessibility requirements throughout its product lines. If your vision is impaired, for example, capabilities like as VoiceOver may assist you in navigating your smartphone by providing audio guidance. Although these efforts are focused on your iPhone or Mac, they are not confined to them.
To reach the Accessibility menu, you may use your iPhone or Apple Watch as a remote control. Depending on whether you already have accessibility features configured on your phone, you may find it easier to configure accessibility on your iPhone than it is on your watch initially.
On your Apple Watch, the Accessibility menu may be accessed by going to Settings > Accessibility. Accessibility may be found by opening the Watch app on your iPhone and selecting it.
It’s also worth noting that many of these functions may be customised through the use of Siri. If you’re blind or have poor eyesight, for example, you might want to ask Siri to turn on VoiceOver so that you can explore the accessibility menu without assistance from someone else.
VoiceOver
With VoiceOver, those who have vision difficulties can still use Apple Watch. In doing so, simple gestures are used to move around the Apple Watch screen while a VoiceOver narrator speaks each time an item is selected.
Zoom
To better aid those who need greater visual accessibility, Zoom lets you set a default magnification level for the Apple Watch but also adjust it dynamically.
Font Adjustment
On Apple Watches with cellular, you can use real-time text or RTT. The protocol transmits audio as you type text. Ideally suited for those with hearing or speech difficulties, RTT lets you communicate when you’re away from your iPhone using built-in Software RTT that’s configurable in the Apple Watch app.
Bold Text
Makes all text bold for easier viewing.
On/Off Labels
Displays an additional label on the on/off switches to make it easier for people to tell when settings are on or off.
Grayscale
Enables grayscale on the Apple Watch to support people who have difficulty viewing colour.
Reduce Transparency
Increases the contrast on the watch screen by reducing the transparency of the background behind elements such as alerts and Siri.
Reduce Motion
Reduces motion on the screen by limiting animation or automatic resizing of the Apple Watch interface when opening or closing apps.
Chimes
Plays a chime sound and haptic feedback on the hour, or on another schedule that you set, to help those who can’t see the time on the watch keep track of time.
Mobility
Side Button Click Speed: Adjusts the speed required to double-click the side button on your Apple Watch. You can choose between default, slow, and slowest.
Touch Accommodations
Allows you to adjust how your watch responds to touches. There are several adjustments that can be made, such as adjusting the hold duration.
Auto-Answer Calls
Tells your Watch that you would like calls automatically answered, rather than waiting for you to swipe to answer on your watch or iPhone.
Real-Time Text
Allows you to make and receive real-time text (RTT) phone class from the Phone app on your Apple Watch, letting you use text to communicate during phone calls.
Mono Audio
Plays both left and right audio channels in both ears when listening to Bluetooth headphones connected to your Apple Watch, and lets you adjust the balance for greater volume in one ear or the other.
Headphone Notifications
Sends a notification if you’ve been listening to loud music or audio for a prolonged period through Bluetooth headphones connected to your watch.
Hearing Devices Complication
Let’s you decide what complication you would like shown in your watch face complications when you connect a hearing device. You can choose between Mic Volume and Program.
Audio Transcriptions
Shows audio transcriptions on your Apple Watch for announcements from your HomePod.
Chimes
Plays a chime sound and haptic feedback on the hour, or on another schedule that you set, to help those who can’t see the time on the watch keep track of time.
