The idea of a ChatGPT smartwatch is enough to excite millions of tech fans. Imagine having a leading AI language model on your wrist. Solving problems and developing creative solutions would be easier than ever.
Luckily for ChatGPT fans, there is an AI smartwatch already — kind of.
The Amazfit GTR4 is now running a ChatGPT integration, giving users never seen before on-wrist capabilities. The chatbot is listed as “ChatGenius”, and it’s been demonstrated on Linkedin already.

Amazfit GTR4 & ChatGPT: The Latest News
A few weeks ago, Amazfit posted their ChatGPT smartwatch demo on Linkedin.
This post detailed how users could access the demo tool on their smartwatches, allowing them to explore the wonders of AI with ease.
In the promo video, the watch user asks the AI tool,“How to improve my running performance?” and within seconds, there’s an AI response on the screen. To view the whole response, the user has to use the crown to scroll down.
Initial Criticism
While this is an exciting step forward, the integration has already seen some criticism.
Comments under the Linkedin post state “Nothing so revolutionary” and “Makes little sense _unless_ it also uses the data it has tracked while you were wearing it to give you tailor-made advice.”
Some are even speculating that the tool will be a significant power drain watch. Amazfit states that the watch has a 14-day battery life. However, some users have found that the battery drains quickly, leaving them worried to see if it can even go over 7 days without charging.
Perhaps Amazfit will work on their watch battery in conjunction with an AI language model.
What Is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot that’s trained to follow instructions/prompts and to respond with detailed answers. This AI tool was developed by OpenAI and has been public since November 2022.
ChatGPT & WearOS
Amazfit isn’t the only smartwatch offering AI capabilities. ChatGPT is already available for Wear OS devices under“WearGPT” on the Google Play Store of Samsung Galaxy Store.
This app pairs with a smartphone app, allowing you to create searches and conversations on your wrist.
The WearGPT app has seen a successful launch, but there have already been some problems surrounding its maintenance status. This has caused OpenAI to place the app in maintenance mode as it has limited credits for individual accounts. The developers are taking steps to fix this issue, but it does signal that it will take some time for AI models to smoothly integrate — especially with such high demand for them.
So, ChatGPT is available for Galaxy Watch users, Amazfit, and other WearOS devices. We’ll likely see an Apple equivalent sometime in the future. Keep watching the latest news for updates on an Apple Watch alternative.
The Takeaway – AI For All
Whether you like it or not, the AI revolution is happening, and smartwatches are about to get even smarter. We’re excited to see where these developments will take us. Stay tuned for the latest news updates, or check out other watch brands online now.
