Fitbit Inspire HR or Samsung Galaxy Fit?

By Scott Anfield. Updated: Feb 3, 2022

Choosing a fitness device that is reliable, comfortable, and does not cost the earth is a challenge that can seem impossible to manage. However, both Samsung and Fitbit have several devices that could potentially fit the bill. We took a look at the Samsung Galaxy Fit and the Fitbit Inspire HR to give you an idea of what you can expect from these devices.

Which fitness tracker is best for you, Fitbit Inspire HR or Samsung Galaxy Fit?

What is the Difference in Design Between the Samsung Galaxy Fit & Fitbit Inspire HR?

On a superficial level, these two devices are very similar. Both offer a long, rectangular face and comfy, sporty strap that is durable and changeable. Furthermore, both devices come in the budget range pricing and offer a lot of value for money.

The Galaxy Fit is just 1.12cm thick and comes in either black, white, or yellow color options. It has a single side button that is used to navigate or start a workout and is simple to use, making it a fuss-free option for anyone who wants to avoid complex tech.

The Fitbit Inspire HR certainly looks very similar to other Fitbit devices. It comes with changeable bands that work with Fitbit options and third-party bands. To get to your information, you simply scroll the screen or use the side button for navigation.

In terms of usability, both of the trackers come with a 5ATM rating that allows you to swim with them in water no deeper than 50m. The Galaxy Fit does offer a full-color screen that is bright and user-friendly, whereas the Inspire HR is black and white, making it less attractive to look at.

Which Device Offers the Best Fitness Tracking?

Undoubtedly, the main reason anyone would choose to invest in either of these devices is to help track their fitness efforts. They are very similar in what they track, with steps and calories being the main features and workouts being another. Both the Inspire HR and Galaxy Fit will automatically detect if you are working out, too, meaning that you are unlikely to miss out on logging your workouts as long as you are wearing your device.

There is also a considerable similarity in that both devices offer a heart rate monitor and sleep tracking. The Fitbit just overtakes the Galaxy Fit in terms of quality sleep tracking. Both devices also use a companion app to share data and insights into your hard work so that you can understand your progress. When it comes to the apps, you will find that Fitbit offers a more streamlined solution, and Samsung really don’t! In fact, the Samsung app can be incredibly frustrating to use, which is well worth considering if you want to access your data regularly.

What Smart Features Do the Fitbit Inspire HR and Samsung Galaxy Fit Offer?

While both devices are aimed solely at fitness-tracking consumers, they also come with a number of smart features that aim to make your life a bit easier. Both of the devices provide you with notification alerts direct from your phone, but you will not be able to respond or manage these notifications from the device itself.

Neither device offers contactless payments or music playback, but they both allow you to pick your favorite watch face from a prescribed selection, of which the Galaxy Fit offers a few more than the Inspire HR.

What is the Battery Life on the Fitbit Inspire HR and Samsung Galaxy Fit?

Having a device that comes with a decent battery life can make life easier, especially when you are busy with work and other commitments. The Fitbit Inspire HR offers a five-day battery life which will cover the working week, but the Galaxy Fit comes with a full seven-day battery, meaning you can schedule charging time when you are off during the weekend.

What Are the Main Differences Between the Devices?

Take a look at our side to side comparison of both devices to help you decide which one has to most to offer you:

Which Device Should I Buy – Fitbit Inspire HR and Samsung Galaxy Fit?

Deciding which device to buy when they are so similar may pose a unique challenge, but the reality is that whichever you choose, you are getting access to a device that can be relied upon.

The Samsung Galaxy Fit certainly has a good design and boasts an AMOLED touchscreen. As a result, it’s more attractive to look at and more modern on your wrist. Furthermore, the battery life with this device is up to two days longer. However, the companion app is hard to navigate and clunky, making data tracking difficult and cumbersome.

The Fitbit Inspire HR offers a classic Fitbit look combined with quality Fitbit features but only has a black and white screen that is screaming for an upgrade to color. The battery life may come in at just lower than the Galaxy Fit, but it’s important to remember that it still offers five days between charges, allowing you to enjoy it without worry. The companion app is also excellent and informative.

Ultimately, when it comes to choosing, you can opt for the device you like the look of best and be confident that you will get all the features you need to start tracking your fitness better than ever before without breaking the bank!
