Enjoy Google Assistant On Your Galaxy Watch 4

By Isobel Coughlan. Updated: Jun 8, 2022

Great news for Galaxy Watch 4 fans, Google Assistant is now available for your smartwatch. There’s nothing like having an assistant, especially if that assistant is strapped onto your wrist.

Voice assistant features are more popular than ever, and users rave about the ease of use. From Siri to Bixby, there are different options to try. However, the Galaxy Watch 4 is now compatible with Google’s own voice assistant – Google Assistant.

Will you be using this smartwatch feature? Keep on reading to find out how this collaboration came around and how you can embrace voice assistants.

Explore the Google Assistant collaboration here.

Google Assistant On Your Samsung Watch

Samsung has teamed up with Google to build a unique Wear OS platform that offers a “seamless connection” across various Android devices.

Starting on the 23rd of May, Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 users will be able to download and use Google Assistant. This feature will enable faster voice interactions, on-the-go help, and quick answers to questions. Now, users can access both Bixby and Google Assistant, ensuring an advanced choice of tools.

Unfortunately, the Google Assistant update is only available on the fourth generation of Galaxy Watch.

This collaboration also includes Google Play, Google Pay, Google Maps, and Youtube Music. From easy app downloads to the latest tunes, Google is here to help customers with on-wrist features.

What Is Google Assitant?

Unsure what Google Assistant actually does? We’ve got your back.

This modern tool is activated by voice control or pressing a button. All you need to do is ask your device a question, and the curated assistant will give you a quick and accurate answer. From “What’s the weather right now?” to “Call my voicemail,” this feature has many uses.

Find Google Assistant on:

  • Smartwatches
  • Smart speakers
  • Cars
  • Laptops
  • TV
  • Phones
  • Smart displays
  • & More!

Designed for you, this tool makes your life easier No matter where you are, you can access help with a simple “Hey Google.”

Voice Assistant Alternatives

If you’re not sold on Google Assistant, or perhaps you use a different smartwatch, there are some voice assistant alternatives to help you out.

One of the most popular competitors is Siri, created by Apple. Similar to Google Assistant, Siri provides on-wrist help at the sound of a voice command. Note that this tool can only be used on Apple products, though!

Another popular voice assistant is Amazon’s Alexa. This is another popular hands-free voice control system available on a range of smartwatches. Alexa appears on Fitbits, Amazfit models, and Xiaomi Mi Bands.

The Bottom Line

Will you be joining the voice assistance club? This feature is extremely popular, and it’s exciting to see this unique collaboration between Google and Samsung. Even if you’re not a Galaxy Watch 4 user, consider trialing voice assistance on one of your devices.
