We are going to specifically look at Guess watches for women however if you haven’t heard of Guess, chances are you’ve been living under a rock since the brand’s launch in LA in 1981.
Guess began making a name for itself producing jeans. Celebrities started wearing them and Guess soon became a fashion brand, expanding its product range to include watches.
Guess watches are designed for the fashion-conscious. But thanks to the highly competitive nature of the watch and smartwatch market, brands like Guess have been packing their timepieces with functionality too.
What kinds of watch do Guess make?
Guess does it all, with traditional and smartwatches in a huge choice of colours, materials, straps and styles. Over the last 30 years the company has made far more watches than we could ever review here, so let’s look at five outstanding Guess timepieces for women.
Guess watches for ladies
Created for Macy’s
$75 / £55
Guess teamed up with the American retail giant Macy’s to create an exclusive rose gold 30mm watch with a leather strap.
This acts as an elegant accessory just as much as it does a reliable timepiece. It’s encased in a sleek rose gold case which is made of stainless steel. However, it’s on the slim side, at 30mm.
It’s powered by quartz movement with three hands on a silver dial which is outlined by some sparkly crystal accents.
There is a crystal cover on the dial which is both scratch-proof and helps toward the up-to-30m water-resistance.
The adjustable leather strap has a rose gold colouring and a buckle to close it.
All in all, for the low price, you get an awful lot of style and function.
Confetti
$220 / £199
This model offers a bigger 40mm stainless steel case in a golden colour. The dial is an irresistible gold colour that goes perfectly with the case. There are subdials that detail the day and date as well as 24 hour features.
The strap also has a golden tone, also in stainless steel. It’s adjustable to 190mm and has a pilot buckle.
Steel Mesh Strap
$179 / £149
It would be nice if Guess named its watches with a little more creativity!
The stainless steel mesh bracelet on this 39mm watch really pops. It’s in a dainty rose gold-tone and oozes strong femininity. The stainless steel case is round in a rose gold finish. It’s somehow casual, elegant and sporty all at once – a perfect everyday watch.
The set bezel is made of crystal and underneath the hood is quartz movement offering fairly accurate timekeeping.
The dial is brilliant white, used for contrast. It has Roman numbers and dots for indices, both in rose gold. There are three hands and the Guess logo sits in the middle for all to see.
This is both fashionable and practical. Not only does it look fantastic, but it’s water-resistant to 50 meters so you don’t have to worry about getting it wet in the shower or during recreational water sports.
Quartz Stainless Steel Casual Watch
$125 / £99
This offering looks a whole lot different to the aforementioned watches, despite having the on-brand rose gold in the design.
This has a 38.5mm case that’s 10.25mm thick. It’s made of stainless steel and mineral crystal, which offers a level of scratch-resistance. It sits on a stain-resistant blue silicone strap with buckle closure.
The round face sits on a blue top ring and displays a three-handed analogue feature. The hands themselves are gold, as are the hour markers. There are three subdials and a day and date window and the Guess name sits toward the top centre of the face.
It’s powered by a Japanese quartz movement and can withstand 50m of water pressure. All in all, its functions are equally as impressive as it’s looks.
Iconic Silicone Sport Watch
$65 / £50
This final Guess watch for women is the black sheep of the group. At under $100, you’ll be hard pushed to find something more stylish with a brand name on it.
This bold-looking timepiece has a 41mm by 12mm stainless steel case and silicone strap with a buckle closure that you can adjust.
It has a round face with a three-handed analogue display. The black monotone styling keeps things minimal with some Guess logo detailing and not a lot else. There are no numbers, but you do get some hour markings.
Inside is a quartz movement and outside, as it’s silicone, it boasts a water-resistance of up top 30m.
If you’re looking for something striking, this really does create an iconic look.
Summary
Both the workmanship and materials used on Guess watches are of decent quality. The movements come from Japan and this gives confidence in the reliability and precision. When you buy a Guess watch, you’ll get something that performs well and will continue to be accurate.
