The Apple Watch provides accurate and reliable fitness data for all users, but what should you do if you want to edit your activity goals?
The unique Activity app is a popular feature from Apple and a key reason many choose an Apple Watch. We’ve researched the top tips and tricks to help you personalize your fitness journey to get the most out of your smartwatch.
Keep reading to explore what the activity goals are and how to change them.
What Are The Activity Goals?
The Apple Watch features a few fitness apps, one being the Activity app. This app combines data to give you metrics on your day-to-day general movement, exercise, and standing. This data is shown in their unique “ring” feature, allowing a clear view of your daily progress.
This popular feature is a great way to get fit without delving into specific fitness insights. Apple Watch users simply need to wear their watch as they go about their days, and the watch will automatically collate their fitness information.
Alongside the three main activity goals, the Activity app also gives users information about their total daily distance, steps, and flights climbed too. The app also awards users when they beat their personal best or hit a specific fitness goal.
If you connect with friends, you can compete with them to see who can move the most in a day. This is a great way to motivate each other to get moving. Once you’ve added a friend, you’ll also be able to view their three fitness rings without competing. This allows you to check in and see how active your family and friends are day-to-day.
How To Change Apple Watch Goals
Though changing settings on a smartwatch can be confusing, there’s an easy way to amend your activity goals on the Apple Watch.
- Find the Activity app on your watch and select it.
- Scroll to the bottom of the first screen and tap “Change Goals”.
- Select the “-” or “+” icon depending on whether you want to increase or decrease your goal.
- Repeat this step on each of the Exercise, Stand, and Move goals depending on your needs.
- Once you’ve set your goals, tap “OK” on the “Stand” menu to finish making changes.
Once you’ve completed these steps, you’re all done! These goals can be changed as many times as you like, and you can find an additional weekly summary of your activity in the Activity app. This will show how often you meet your goals and other movement achievements. You can also view weekly summaries such as average kilocalories, combined steps, and active time.
