Launched in October 2021, the Moto Watch 100 is a popular smartwatch option. This affordable watch provides high-quality features and an attractive design. But, will we meet a Moto Watch 200?
These days, brands tend to release a new generation of their smartwatch a year or so after the initial release. With this pattern in mind, we might soon meet a second generation of the Moto Watch 100.
But, what features could the Moto Watch 200 offer? And do we know anything about Motorola’s plans? Keep reading to find out.
The Moto Watch 200: What We Want To See
When it comes to features, the Moto Watch 100 is impressive. This wearable boasts many of the in-demand smartwatch features usually featured, and the price is very affordable. But, there are some tools and trackers that we want to see in the next generation.
ECG Monitors
Smartwatch tech is now so advanced that ECG monitors are a standard addition to wearables. The first Moto Watch 100 included popular heart rate tracking, SpO2 sensors, and accelerometers, yet it lacks an ECG monitor.
Maybe the next generation will focus on a health and fitness approach. If it does, we hope to see an on-wrist ECG app.
Improved Display
The Moto Watch 100 design is sleek and attractive, but we’d like to see an updated display on the Moto Watch 200.
Currently, this watch provides an LCD screen with a 1.3 inches diameter. Though this is an adequate screen, competitors boast clearer screens and larger displays. Maybe Motorola will implement a higher resolution option or a wider watch face for easy reading.
More Design Options
While the Moto Watch 100 comes in Phantom Black or Glacier Silver, we’d like to see some extra color options.
These days, smartwatches come in all shapes and sizes. So, to keep up with demand, the Moto Watch 200 could come in white, rose gold, or other colors. Rose gold is a popular choice for smartwatch users, and not including this option is a huge oversight.
Moto Watch 100 2 Release Date
When can we expect to meet the next generation of this smartwatch?
Well, since the first Moto Watch 100 debuted in October 2021, we’ll be waiting until fall 2022 at the earliest for news on this wearable. Typical smartwatch trends take 12-18 months for a new option to come out, so fans could be waiting until summer 2023.
There are no confirmed reports of a second Moto Watch 100 yet, but keep your eyes peeled! Sometimes smartwatch brands are secretive about their new launches.
With a few tweaks, this smartwatch could be a key competitor in the wearable market.
The Takeaway
Have you tried the Moto Watch 100? This smartwatch received a low-key release and went under the radar a little. But, we’re still excited to see whether this watch gets re-imagined for a second generation. What do you think? Let us know!
