PITAKA has created the world’s first watchband made entirely from carbon fiber. This band is 100% carbon fiber and is thus very light and comfortable to wear. It feels, looks, and smells luxurious (so to speak). The launch date for this first carbon fiber apple watch band is still not confirmed but stay tuned as it is coming soon. We have received a couple of bands for this review and so, here is what we found.
What is Pitaka all about?
Pitaka focuses on alternative tech. Why alternative? Because they put luxury and quality first. They use unique materials and delicate manufacturing processes. This produces products that could really steal the show.
Most manufacturers that produce carbon links imprint carbon on top of leather bands. This is not the case with this luxury brand. Pitaka uses 600D Aramid Fiber because it is a sophisticated, high tech, woven fiber up to 5 times stronger than steel at 1/5 of the weight. The result is a light and soft band which looks great. Manufacturing this material has to be accurate. Almost 1500 strands are used in a delicate process and made into a flexible fabric which is then hardened and laser cut to build the links. The material is then painted 3 times to make it durable and scratch-resistant. It is also stunning and has a lovely soft texture when you touch it.
Did you know that originally, when Jonathan Ive designed the first Apple watch, it was meant to be more of a fashion accessory? Nowadays, some argue that it’s more an extension of the Apple iPhone. We’re not saying the Apple Watch isn’t stylish, but style can be improved especially when you match it with one of the best-looking luxury band for men we have seen to date.
So what do we think of the product?
We have received a couple of bands for this review – a Modern Band and a Retro Band. Both are very beautiful, feel great are very light and feel good to wear. I prefer the retro style because it gives the watch a classic, slightly more aggressive look. (Images below).
When will this band be available for purchase?
From what we hear it is coming soon. No date has been confirmed yet but as we have already received it for review we understand the launch date is near.
What better match can you find for your costly Apple Watch 6 or SE? We definitely think in terms of style, luxury, and also cost performance this is one of the best options in the market. The carbon fiber look and feel gives your apple watch that extra, rugged, stylish edge and turns it into a true timepiece. Can the Apple Watch compete on your wrist with other well known classic Swiss brands? With this band, maybe it can.
In our next in-depth product review, we are going to compare the 7 best Apple Watch cases including some luxury and stylish ones.
