Is the new TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS an Apple Watch rival?

By Maygen. Updated: Nov 17, 2021

Deciding on which Wear OS wristwatch to purchase may be challenging. Unless the product device you’re looking at is the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. As a result of Google and Samsung collaborating on Wear OS 3, Samsung is the exclusive provider of this new version. However, this does not imply that it is the only watch worth considering. Many are suggesting the new TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS could even rival the Apple Watch. Here are our thoughts.

Ticwatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS

The firm behind the TicWatch brand, Mobvoi, is renowned for making minor incremental modifications to its product range year after year. And the Pro 3 Ultra is no exception. However, just because they are minor tweaks does not imply that they aren’t significant increases in quality. Where the Pro 3 improved the overall design of the Pro 4G, the Pro 3 Ultra maintains those improvements while adding some new tricks to win its spot on your wrist.

    What’s new?

In true Mobvoi form, the firm has made minor modifications to this year’s gadget, retaining most of the previous model and adding a few new features.

The top of the bezel is a few millimeters higher so that the display is almost level with the case. Mobvoi claims that the watch’s new design is more robust than the previous one despite having the same IP68 and military-standard certifications.

The display is perhaps the most significant improvement. The 1.4-inch 326 PPI AMOLED screen is the same as before; however, while in “Essential” mode, the secondary FTSN display takes up 18 various color lighting choices. In this mode, Mobvoi says that the battery can last up to 45 days, while it can last up to 72 hours in Smart mode.

The majority of the other features, however, remain unchanged from the previous generation. The Snapdragon Wear 4100 and Mobvoi’s co-processor power the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS, which debuted with the Pro 3. That in-house processor helps to prolong battery life by powering less demanding applications. The TicWatch Pro 3 features the same 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage as the previous model, and the health sensors are the same.

    Cost and availability

On October 13, 2021, Mobvoi unveiled and released the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra. Shadow Black is the only color option for the watch. The gadget is now available at just under $300.

Is the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS worth your money?

In conclusion, the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra maintains everything that was excellent about the prior edition and improves on it. Thanks to its improved construction, it has new adjustable lighting for the top display, additional software capabilities for the TicHealth suite, and increased endurance.

It is hard to tell yet whether the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS is an upgrade over its predecessor or a real contender against the Apple Watch.

The TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra is a watch with the longest battery life and excellent performance. The Pro 3 Ultra is ideal for people who spend a lot of time outdoors, whether for work or pleasure, thanks to its dual-layer display technology and improved durability. This watch will receive Wear OS 3 in 2022, but it doesn’t have it now, which is a bit of a letdown.
