Will OnePlus reveal the OnePlus Watch today?

By Emma Morris. Updated: Jul 27, 2021

It’s no secret that OnePlus has been working on the OnePlus Watch. However, will they finally unveil it at the OnePlus launch event today (March 23rd)?

OnePlus Watch

OnePlus moved into the wearable tech world earlier this year with the OnePlus Band Fitness Tracker. Shortly after, various leaks confirmed a smartwatch would follow soon. So, whilst we wait to see if the OnePlus Watch makes an appearance today, here is what we think we may see.

OnePlus Watch Design

Rumours say the OnePlus Watch looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy Active 2 (without the touch dial). It has a rubber band, and colour variants include silver and black.

The watch has a 1.39-inch AMOLED display and HD 454 x 454 with 326ppi pixel density. Recently leaked images show two buttons on the right edge of the case. One power button and one function button. A microphone and speaker are also seen, so we can assume the device will be able to make and receive calls.

Features

Basic fitness and health tracking will be available on the watch. This includes automatic workout detection, blood oxygen, heart rate, and sleep monitoring. However, it is unlikely to be suitable for swimming with 5atm water resistance and IP68 dust resistance.

Inside the OnePlus Watch

Unsurprisingly, the device is Android compatible. However, there is a rumour that an iOs compatible version may be available later.

When it comes to battery life, the OnePlus Watch makes an impressive claim. You can expect up to 1 week of use, including 25 hours of continuous exercise and GPS from just 20 minutes of charge.

Release date and price

As we have already mentioned, it’s likely the watch will make an appearance today. We are expecting it to fall into the mid-point price range for smartwatches at around $178.

Limited Edition

Rumours also talk about a limited-edition OnePlus Watch Cobalt variant. The design is slightly different, offering sapphire glass, flat-screen and vegan leather strap.

Conclusion

As we have said, these are rumours at the moment, although from very reliable sources. Following the launch today, we will keep you updated with all the latest information about the smartwatch.
