Yesterday, Casio announced they would be releasing the GSW-H1000, its first G-SHOCK Watch using Google’s Wear OS operating system.
The GSW-H1000 is the flagship model for the G-SQUAD line of G-SHOCK watches and is certainly a watch to consider if you’re a fitness fan.
This is what we know so far:
GSW-H1000 Design
Unsurprisingly, the GSW-H1000 has the original G-SHOCK shock-resistant build. Furthermore, the titanium back gives added protection, and the honeycomb pattern used on the case and the strap symbolises the strength of the construction. This latest release is available in three colours, black, navy blue and red, with a Urethane strap, giving a soft, flexible but durable fit.
Featuring an always-on LCD screen, the watch has a dual-layer display that can be switched between digital, analogue or a custom design face. Consequently, this allows the user to choose the best face and data display for their needs. Furthermore, the screen is made up of both monochrome and full-colour display for optimum viewing, depending on its feature.

As we have already said, the GSW-H1000 certainly has fitness fans in mind. Boasting 15 activities and 24 indoor workouts, these are just some of the activities the watch is capable of tracking:

Inside the GSW-H1000

- Heart rate monitor – via optical sensor
- Compass

Unfortunately, there is no information currently available regarding battery life.
The App
To get the best from the GSW-H1000, it is recommended to use the free G-SHOCK Move App. Once the app is installed on a smartphone, users can access activity history, training analysis, and social media fans can even create original content by overlaying workout or activity stats over their videos or images.
GSW-H1000 Release
The GSW-H1000 is first expected to launch in Singapore in July 2021; however, there is not yet any information about price or when it will be available to the rest of the world markets.
Conclusion
In conclusion, if you’re a fitness fan, you really can’t go wrong with any watch from the G-SHOCK range, and we are sure the G-SQUAD range is set to be just as impressive. However, if you’re not in Singapore, we don’t yet know how long you will be waiting to add the GSW-H1000 to your watch collection.
