As one of the largest smartwatch companies in China, Xiaomi is keen to become a global success. Releasing a range of smartwatches that have been well received. Two of their most recent watch offerings – the Redmi Watch 2 and Redmi Watch 2 Lite – are deemed the budget smartwatch to impress global users.
We took a look at them both so that you can decide whether they would be a good addition to your collection. Check out what we found out now.
Which Redmi Watch Has the Best Design?
It is hard to tell these two watches apart when it comes to design. They both come with a dust-proof design and sweat resistance for when you are working out, and they are both waterproof to 50 meters, making them a great swimming companion. Both watches also offer the ability to replace your watch bands and many different watch face designs so that you can alter your look when it suits you.
The Watch 2 is just 31g, and the Watch 2 Lite is 35g, making both devices seriously light and comfy to wear. Plus, with their touchscreen display, you will be able to navigate to your chosen section with ease.
The Watch 2 also offers an always-on display. However, neither watch has toughened glass casing. So you will need to be very careful to avoid getting it bashed or scaped when in use. We think that the design of both watches is great, but the Watch 2 gets our vote because it comes with an always-on display that makes getting information quicker than ever before.
Which Redmi Watch Has the Best Tracking Sensors?
Before we look at the tracking options on each watch, it is worth looking at the number of tracking sensors and what they can do so that you end up with the best spec.
The best thing about the Redmi Watch 2 is that it comes with a GNSS system that includes GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo, as well as BeiDou. It also has a heart rate monitor and an Sp02 monitor to help with health tracking and an accelerometer and compass to help with exercise tracking.
However, the Redmi Watch 2 Lite also offers GPS, an Sp02, and a heart rate monitor. It pushes the boundaries a bit further by adding in an ABC system for when you are outside on an adventure and has a gyroscope to aid better detection in orientation.
Ultimately, we think that the more tracking, the better, and so the Redmi Watch 2 Lite definitely wins due to the number of sensors it offers.
Which Redmi Watch has the Best Fitness Features?
When it comes to fitness, these watches have been designed to offer several tracking capabilities that will help you analyze your performance. They both come with distance and tracking, step and calorie counting, as well as stroke counting, and exercise tagging.
In addition, the Watch 2 Lite can track your water intake over the course of the day and automatically recognize your swimming strokes for a more accurate outcome when you have finished. If you like to set achievable fitness goals and access multi-sports modes, then the Watch 2 Lite offers this as well, making it our winner for fitness features overall.
Which Redmi Watch Helps to Maintain Wellbeing the Best?
Many of us forget the importance of maintaining good wellbeing as well as good fitness. However, looking after yourself is easy with the Redmi Watch 2 and Watch 2 Lite. They both track your sleep and provide you with sleep reports so that you can monitor your hours of sleep as well as the different states of sleep you achieve.
Plus, if you choose the Watch 2 Lite, you will be able to use your watch to track your weight by inputting the data into your watch. This feature can be incredibly motivational, especially when trying to get to a healthy weight overall. It’s clear that once again, the Watch 2 Lite offers more than the Watch 2 when it comes to wellbeing, and so is our winner again.
Are there any smartwatch features?
Most smartwatch owners love a feature-packed device, and you won’t be disappointed with either of these models. They are both compatible with iOS and Android devices. Furthermore, both sync automatically to keep you up to date without having to do it yourself.
While neither watch comes with the ability to take or make calls, you can get your notifications direct to your wrist. They also have a stopwatch and alarm function to help you manage your day. The Watch 2 Lite also offers a vibrating alarm aimed to wake you more gently and to notify you silently so that you are on track to meet each goal throughout the day.
Ultimately, we think both devices offer many great features. Even if they are more basic than other watches on the market.
Which Device Has the Best Battery Life?
One of the areas that is often lacking when it comes to budget range devices is the overall battery life. However, the Redmi Watch 2 comes with a massive 12 days of charge, and the Redmi Watch 2 Lite offers 10! They both have a battery level indicator to help you know when it’s time to plug in. And the Watch 2 also offers wireless charging to make your life a bit simpler.
The Battery power on the Watch 2 is around 230mAh, with the Watch 2 Lite at 262mAh. However, for us, the Watch 2 wins overall as it lasts longer and is easier to charge. While the Watch Lite 2 requires a little more effort.
Which Redmi Watch Should I Choose?
Choosing a new watch can be a tough call, and the Redmi Watch 2 and Watch 2 Lite both have a lot to offer. Especially when you consider just how cheap they are to buy. Both watches pack in a huge number of features, and both are designed so similarly that they look great on the wrist. They even both come with the same three color choices (blue, black, and ivory), making it harder than ever to tell them apart.
However, the Watch 2 Lite offers a slightly more refined finish. And a few more features designed to help you achieve your goals. For this reason, we think that the Watch 2 Lite is the best choice for consumers.
Another excellent budget option is the Moto Watch 100. Check it out here.
