The Galaxy Watch 5 is an exciting future watch.

Samsung’s Galaxy range is one of the most popular smartwatches available, mainly due to its stylish design and extensive features. But, what can we expect for the 5th release in this watch family?
Though there isn’t any specific information about the Galaxy Watch 5 yet, some sources report that we’ll see an innovative thermometer function. This will allow the watch to compete with the Fitbit Sense and the Garmin Fenix 6/7, which already offer this technology.
Keep on reading to learn what we know so far.
What Is The Thermometer Feature?
Sources (such as ETNews) have reported that the thermometer feature will measure the user’s skin temperature and give an overall body temperature result.
Though this sounds like a simple function, it’s not. Smartwatches need to consider environmental factors, such as ambient temperature, sunlight, and this feature will require extensive testing before its release to ensure accurate readings.
This feature has likely been fast-tracked due to the Coronavirus pandemic. One of the main symptoms of the virus is a higher temperature; therefore, a watch with a thermometer will keep users on top of their overall health.
Not only that, but this temperature can also pair with women’s health features. If a woman is trying to conceive, she might want to measure her temperature to predict ovulation. Many gadgets offer this service already, but few smartwatches are on that list.
When Can We Expect The Galaxy Watch 5?
Since the Galaxy Watch 4 was released in the UK and US on the 26th of August 2021, it’s still a new smartwatch.
With this in mind, we can’t expect to see the Galaxy Watch 5 in-store too soon. Some rumors expect the watch to appear around August/September 2022, but the release will occur a year after the 4.
It’s more likely that the watch will debut in spring 2023. But, you never know, so keep your eyes peeled!
What’s The Price?
Alongside potential release dates, most Galaxy Watch 5 questions are about the price. The Galaxy Warch 4 retails at $249.99 for the original model. Likely, the Galaxy Watch 5 will also start around this price point.
