Which Garmin smartwatch is your favorite? The Fenix? The Forerunner? Or are you awaiting the Garmin Enduro 2?
Initially released on the 15th of February 2021, the Garmin Enduro was a long-awaited release from the fitness tech brand. After a year or so of usage, fans are left wondering if there will be a second rendition of this smartwatch. Will we meet the next generation soon? Hopefully!
We’re delving into the possible Garmin Enduro 2 and which features fans are looking for. Are there any particular features you’d like to see? Scroll to see if we mention them!
Garmin Enduro 2: Potential Features
Though there are no news leaks of the Garmin Enduro 2, we’re exploring forums and examining the first smartwatch to gauge which features users want to see.
Designed for distance running and endurance sports, the first Enduro watch specializes in long training sessions and race conditions. But, Garmin seems to have made one major mistake for this wearable – a lack of maps.
Garmin smartwatch fans have realized that the lack of GPS maps on the Enduro takes some running events off the table. Though the wearable offers turning directions, users can’t see a complete picture of the course. So, it would be great to see an integration of maps onto the next smartwatch.
Users have also complained about the lack of Pro features – for example, music streaming. To complement workouts, we’d also like to see music options and different third-party apps on the Garmin Enduro 2.
Other features we’d like to see on the Garmin Enduro 2 include:
- Wi-Fi
- Higher storage
- Longer battery life
- Updated firmware
- Added workouts.
While there are a few areas for improvement, the original Enduro also offers impressive features.
Existing features we want to see on the Enduro 2 include:
- VO2 max
- Solar power charging
- Battery conserving modes
- Lightweight & durable design
- Always-on sunlight–optimized display
- Health tracking sensors (step count, heart rate monitor)
- Climb Pro
- MTB dynamics
- Ultrarun
This wearable provides specialized running features, such as Ultrarun and Climbpro, to ensure that experienced athletes can meet their goals. With a few tweaks, the Garmin Enduro 2 can go the distance.
Release Date For Garmin Enduro 2
So, we’ve examined possible features, but when will we see this new wearable?
If the first rendition of this smartwatch was released in February 2021, we’d likely see a new option in autumn 2022 or spring 2023. This sets the release a year and a half to two years after the first – a standard timeline for most smartwatches.
That being said, we have no confirmed date for this release nor confirmation that the smartwatch will be released. But stay tuned for updates!
Final Thoughts
The original Enduro impressed customers, but the smartwatch fell a little short due to a lack of maps. With some improvements and additions, the Garmin Enduro 2 could succeed where the first model didn’t. Are you intrigued by this premium fitness tracker? Let us know in the comments.
