The Garmin Instinct 3 may not have an official release date, but users are already excited by the concept of another watch in this range.
Multisports watches are one of the best-selling genres, so there’s no surprise that Garmin fans are waiting patiently for an updated Instinct wearable. However, the Instinct 2 watch was only released in February 2022 – so those waiting might have to hold it together for another year. Sadly, Garmin usually leaves at least one year between launches.
But, a possible wait time doesn’t stop us from investigating the next model! Keep reading to see the predicted Garmin Instinct 3 features, design, and release date.
Garmin Instinct 3 Design
Known for its rugged design and durable materials, the Instinct range design is well-loved worldwide. The Instinct 2 watch already offers over 15 design options (including the Solar range), and users can also pick between camo, surf, dezl, tactical, and standard editions.
Users are seriously spoiled for choice with vast aesthetic choices and different editions. So, we don’t want to see any significant design changes for the Garmin Instinct 3 – perhaps some more color options at most.
Hopefully, the Instinct 3 will come with three case sizes, though. Currently, users can choose between 40mm and 45mm. A third 43mm case would allow more flexibility and a mid-size option.
Health & Fitness
Since the Instinct range is designed to support a wide range of sports and workouts, the health and fitness features are pretty robust.
However, there are some changes we’d like to see. Though third-party sports apps can be downloaded from the Garmin Connect store, some users call for additional trackers – such as a steps data field.
Instinct 2 offers many health features too. These include sleep management, women’s health tracking, and more. But, current Instinct users are suggesting sunburn prevention alarms and incoming rain alerts. Since the watch is used for outdoor sports, these features would make getting active in the sun more accessible than ever.
We hope to see the ECG monitoring option in the Garmin Instinct 3 release. This we can predict because the FDA has just approved this feature for the Garmin Venu 2 Plus.
Generally, this wearable’s sports and health tools are premium quality. Yet, minor tweaks would take this watch to the next level.
General Features
These days, smartwatches offer more features than some smartphones!
To upgrade the current Instinct features, we’d like to see the Garmin Instinct 3 with a battery life preservation setting. This would stop pesky battery drainage, allowing users to spend more time enjoying the watch.
Some users call for a Garmin Pay update, as not all cards work on the app. Also, Garmin Pay doesn’t work in China, leaving frequent travelers stuck without a bank card when on the road.
Finally, another general feature that could improve the Instinct experience is a flexible alarm feature. Adding alarms via the Connect app would save the hassle of adding them on the wrist. Though it’s a minor change, users would benefit a lot.
Wireless Charging
While this new feature has just been introduced in the Garmin Vivomove Trend release, we believe that Gamin will carry out this successful feature to its next releases. We hope that the Garmin Instinct 3 will be one of them.
Garmin Instinct 3 Release Date
We currently don’t have a release date for the Instinct 3. But, we can predict a possible release using old launches.
As the first Instinct was launched in October 2018 and the second in February 2022, we can assume that the launch cycle for this range is approximately four years. This would place the Garmin Instinct 3 launch in 2026.
Though 2026 is far away, it makes sense! The Instinct 2 is very up-to-date and does not lack any features yet.
Final Thoughts
While we’re excited for the Garmin Instinct 3, the second generation is still brand new! If you’re looking for a multisports watch, consider the second generation for now. We’re keeping our eyes peeled for any updates or launches, so ensure you stay updated with our news.
