Are you in the market for a new watch but don’t know which to pick? There have been so many great watches released in the past twelve months that it can feel impossible to know which one is right for you. We took the Google Pixel Watch vs Garmin Fenix 7, and the Garmin Epix 2 and put them through their paces so that you can invest in the right one straight away – check out our findings below!
Which is Designed Best – Google Pixel or Garmin Fenix
One of the first things people look for in a smartwatch is the way that it is designed, and the Google Pixel makes a real statement. It has a rounded face with domed glass and comes in one size – 41mm – and three colorways, black, gold, and silver. It also has an AMOLED display and can withstand water depths of up to 50m.
Both the Fenix 7 and Epix 2 come with round faces and navigational buttons to make usage easy. The Fenix 7 also comes in three different sizes (42 mm, 47 mm & 51 mm), whereas the Epix 2 is only available in 47 mm. Both of these watches have been designed for sports as their main function, but they also have some smart features that you can enjoy. All three watches have changeable straps, meaning that whichever you choose, you can personalize them.
Which Offers the Best Fitness Support?
Tracking your exercise is always a good idea, especially when you want to work on improving your performance. The Google Pixel Watch offers 40 different exercise modes to help you personalize your feedback and provides you with information on the steps you take, the calories you burn, and supports your movement with GPS. It also enables you to set health goals that you can work towards achieving.
The Garmin Fenix 7 and Epix 2 are also designed to support your fitness journey and come with a wealth of great features that are designed to get you fitter than ever before. There are a huge number of activities that you can track, and there is also a Stamina feature that helps you to understand how much exertion each exercise requires. When it comes to running, Garmin devices are renowned for the tools they offer and the information they can track, making it quicker and easier to hit your goals!
Which is the Best Smart Companion – Google Pixel Watch vs. Garmin Fenix 7 or Epix 2
Smart and health features are also important when choosing a watch, especially if you want to wear your new addition throughout your working day as well as your exercise time. The Google Pixel Watch provides contactless payments as well as SpO2, ECG, heart rate, and temperature sensors that will keep you focused on your health and well-being throughout the day. You can also get your notifications sent directly to your wrist and make calls, as well as activate ‘Hey Google’ when you need some help.
The Garmin Fenix 7 and Epix 2 also offer contactless payments, and both come with music storage that is big enough for up to 2000 songs plus notifications that are delivered to your wrist. You can also look forward to using sensors to track your sleep, heart rate, and Sp02 levels, as well as a stress measure that will keep you focused on reducing pressure in your life.

Which Has the Best Battery – Google Pixel or Garmin Fenix
Smartwatches with the Longest Battery Life If you are keen to pick a watch with the best possible battery life, then the Google Pixel Watch is disqualified at the first hurdle. It offers 24 hours of charge for average daily use, meaning that you will need to have access to a power source every day to charge it up. This means that you will probably find yourself charging it while you sleep, meaning that you won’t be able to track your shuteye when you want to.
On the flip side, both the Garmin Fenix 7 and Epix 2 offer great battery life options. The Fenix 7 comes with 18 days, and the Epix 2 offers 16 days when in Smartwatch Mode with the always-on screen turned off. When in GPS mode, the Fenix 7 can do 57 hours, and the Epix 2 can do 42 hours. What’s really impressive is that they both have Expedition GPS Mode too, with the Fenix 7 boasting 40 days of charge and the Epix 2 giving you 14 days.

Which is the Best Overall – Google Pixel Watch vs. Garmin Fenix 7 or Epix 2
When it comes to picking a winner, it is not as simple as you may want, purely because each watch has a number of great features for you to use. If you want a smartwatch that will get you through the day, has great tools, can track your exercise, and looks great, then the Google Pixel could be the right watch for you.
We love the round, domed design and the fact that it is seriously comfy to wear. Sadly, the 24-hour battery life is a bit of a disappointment and one that we expect Google to work on before its next release.
If you want a watch that can take you on an adventure and has a battery that will last for multiple days, then the Garmin Fenix 7 or Epix 2 are both great choices. In fact, both watches are incredibly similar, which makes it hard to choose between them until you learn that the Epix is around $200 more expensive. Ultimately, if you want an all-rounder that can go with you to work and play and doesn’t require constant charging, then the Garmin Fenix 7 is well worth considering and is our favorite choice!

My passion for watches started when I got my first Rolex. It was 35 years ago when I managed a franchise of Domino’s Pizza. The Rolex was an incentive for achievements. Since then I have been collecting, learning, using, and trying different watches for my day-to-day activities and hobbies.
I love Sports, not only from my couch but participating in many kinds of sports. I love playing basketball, tennis, soccer, diving, windsurfing, and more. My peace of mind activity is my Goldwing. And enjoying good music played from my smartwatch to my earphones inside my helmet is the optimum relaxing ride…
I am also a volunteering senior medic and an instructor. Teaching about Blood Pressure, ECG, Blood Saturation, and more.
