Oppo Band Review

By Sutheshna Mani. Updated: Jun 7, 2021

Oppo has made a decent reputation for making good quality phones that deliver results. Recently, they decided to jump into the watch market with their Oppo Band. We reviewed their first-gen device and have all the info you need so you can decide whether to buy one or not.

Oppo Band Styles

What Does the Oppo Band Look Like?

Oppo is well known for its simple and sleek designs and has applied this to its smartwatches. It has a rounded, rectangular face that offers a colour screen and is easy to read. The strap offering is also great because each device comes with two straps to choose from – a stainless steel buckled strap and a silicone strap, both of which are comfy to wear and look great.

The watch has a 1.1 inch AMOLED display and features a charging pin at the back and the heart rate and blood level sensors. The display is easy to read and can be seen in all weather conditions, including bright sunshine.

Features

The watch keeps you up to date on daily stats like heart rate, Sp02 levels, sleep, health, and weather. Plus, the device can also tell you the number of calories you have burned throughout the day.

You can read your messages from your wrist and receive notifications that will keep you up to date. The companion app gives you the access to rearrange the watch display to personalize it to your needs.

Fitness Tracking

The band is waterproof to 50 meters for 10 minutes per dip so that you can track your efforts! In addition, there are 12 different workout modes to choose from that cover a range of sports.

Personal Coaching

The Oppo Band doesn’t come with built-in GPS, but it can use your phone’s GPS. When you start and end a workout, you will get access to a range of data to help you understand your performance, including the duration of your activity, pace, stride length, and calories burned.

The great news is that all the tracking features are accurate, so you can trust the data and use it to inform your fitness journey. Considering the Oppo Band is a budget device, its accuracy is even more impressive.

How Good is the Oppo Band Battery?

Interestingly, Oppo claims that the battery life of their first-gen device is 12 full days, but as more people test it, the reality is more like six days. However, if you want all of the watch features, you’ll need to charge every 2-3 days. When it comes to charging, the device takes around 60 minutes to complete a full charge.

Should I Invest in an Oppo Band or Not?

For a first-generation budget device, the variety of features and accuracy of data is impressive. The screen is clear, and features like the Sp02 monitor actually work really well.

However, it is important to note that the battery life is not as great as it claims to be and can be as low as two days when you use all the features. If you don’t mind regular charging, then the Oppo Band may be a great decision!
