Fenix 7 Watch Faces: What’s New

One of the best parts of having a smartwatch is being able to customize the watch’s face so that you can easily take note of the data that’s most important to you and access the apps and features you use most frequently. Today we’ll talk about how to customize your Garmin Fenix 7 watch face.

Preloaded Watch Faces on the fenix 7

Over 15 watch faces come preloaded on the Garmin Fenix 7 series in all of the smartwatch’s versions. These range from simple, classic, or analog styles, to more complex, detailed, or digital watch face styles. You can even utilize analog-style watch faces that also feature digital data like step counts or battery life, for example. Part of what makes the Fenix 7 such a prime sports watch, too, are the faces meant for workouts and training.  All of these preloaded watch faces can be further customized to your liking and lifestyle.

Your Fenix 7 comes preloaded with eight analog faces, with the simplest of these only having number markers, the day of the week, and the day of the month, similar to a traditional classic watch.

You can take analog faces even further by adding features such as heart rate monitoring, step counters, elevation, battery life, weather, VO2 Max, the full date, altimeter readings, and overall training status. The same is true for digital time watch faces, most of which highlight the seconds.

The great thing about this wide initial variety of watch faces on Garmin Fenix 7 is the ability to switch between simple faces that only tell time to more in-depth ones for training or workout mode. Digital displays are large and easy to read and can show you important stats when you’re in a hurry.

Customizable Watch Face Features

Garmin’s Fenix 7 smartwatch faces let you customize:

  1. Number styles on analog and digital watch faces
  2. Hand styles on analog watch faces
  3. Seconds styles for the digital watch faces
  4. Data that appears
  5. Accent colors
  6. Data colors
  7. Background color

What to Expect on the Connect IQ App

Even with all the options Garmin offers, maybe the ones that come standard with the Fenix 7 are still not enough for you: maybe they don’t offer enough data displayed, enough health insight options, or don’t have that unique design you’re looking for. In that case, you still have options. The Garmin Connect IQ Store offers a wide array of face styles to choose from, some designed with the Fenix 7 in mind. Many of the watch faces available for download from Connect IQ are compatible with Garmin smartwatches other than the Fenix 7 as well, such as the Garmin Venu 2, Epix 2, and Fenix 6 range.

Those interested in using their smartwatch to display their personal style will find faces within the IQ Store that are designed solely to look cool and trendy. You can, of course, always switch between a design-centric watch face to one that focuses on data, fitness stats, and health tracking.
