Best Fitbit Watches for 2022

By Emma Morris. Updated: Mar 9, 2022

Fitbit is one of the original makers and stalwarts of fitness trackers, and they have evolved over the years to meet the ever-changing market demands. With a catalogue of devices to choose from, it can be hard to know which smartwatch best suits your needs, and so we have checked out the range on offer and come up with the best Fitbits for 2022.

What Makes a Fitbit Watch a Good Choice?

Fitbits are a great choice because they are constantly upgrading their devices to fit with the changes in technology.

In fact, Fitbits are easy to use and come with a great companion app that gives you informative charts and graphs to help you understand how much you have exercised, what you have eaten, and how much water you have had to drink.

Fitbit Sense

The Fitbit Sense is the latest device that can be classified as a Fitbit smartwatch. It’s has been designed to offer all the latest tech so that you can track your fitness and push forwards to a healthier version of yourself. The device comes with a heart rate monitor, Sp02 counter, temperature gauge, and support for stress management. For those who menstruate, there’s also female health tracking.

The average battery life is around six days, meaning that you can wear it without having to worry about charging every day. It also comes with a six-month free trial to the Fitbit Premium tools that will help you to monitor your health better and even enjoy a huge range of meditations from your phone.

    Fitbit Versa 3

The Fitbit Versa 3 is an upgrade on the hugely successful Versa 2, and it offers built-in GPS, music playback, and notifications to keep you in touch with the world so that wherever you go, you are contactable. It comes with a battery that can last up to a week, with most people needing to plug in after six days.

When it comes to fitness tracking, you can enjoy the step counter, active zone minutes, and stair climbs without doing anything other than wearing it. There is also a huge range of activities you can track and a stopwatch to help you improve on your personal bests!

      Fitbit Charge 5

The Fitbit Charge 5 is now available. After weeks of leaks and speculations, it’s about time.

Fitbit Charge provides a broad range of functions for a device of this size, thanks to its sleek design and a simple rectangular display.

With a host of new features and old favourites like GPS built-in, the Charge 5 builds on the Charge series’ legacy as a workout-friendly watch.

Among the other noteworthy features of this new Charge gadget is an EDA stress monitoring sensor, which was debuted with the Fitbit Sense.

        Fitbit Versa 2

When the Versa 3 came out, it was the start of Fitbit’s foray into new and exciting smart features, and it also offered Amazon Alexa direct to your wrist. It has a larger screen than the more traditional fitness trackers and a colour screen for easy navigation.

The device comes in five different colour choices and offers a week of battery life so that you don’t need to stress about charging when you are busy with life. The strap is comfortable, and the device is incredibly light so that you can almost forget that you have it on. While the Versa 3 has now been released, the Versa 2 is still a great device and well worth considering.

          Fitbit Inspire 2

Fitbit started out by offering fitness trackers, and the Inspire 2 is the newest model to hit the market. It is small and compact and has a whopping ten-day battery life for you to enjoy tracking your activities without having to plug in each nice.

It comes in three different colours and is lightweight on your wrist so that you can forget it is there whilst it works hard for you.

            Fitbit Charge 4

The Fitbit Charge 4 is one of the older Fitbit watch models, but it still packs a punch and offers great functions like Fitbit Pay, notifications, and alarms. The device comes with a great battery that can last up to seven days if you do not use all the features regularly. However, even with a lot of use, you can still look forward to only charging every three to five days.

The great thing about this model is that it is water-resistant and has an in-built GPS system to help you navigate your exercise. You can track a decent number of different activities, and the step counter will keep track of all the other moves you make throughout the day. With four different colour choices, this tracker may not be the cheapest or the newest, but it is still well worth considering!

              Fitbit Luxe

              Fitbit Luxe different angles

The Luxe is a compact, stylish, and refined Fitbit. However, its biometrics (particularly heart rate tracking) are superb. Wearing a fitness tracker every day is recommended for optimum results and its slim build makes this easy.

The Fitbit Luxe is similar to the Inspire 2, with a few useful extra features (plus more to come). Despite its small size, its display is bright, crisp, and inviting. Though we think the size is exactly why it’s a good choice for smaller wrists or even kids.

Because this is a fitness tracker and not a smartwatch like the Fitbit Versa 3 or Fitbit Sense, it doesn’t offer features like phone calls or contactless payments. It does a good job at keeping track of your health and promotes improved habits (both mental and physical). Though it’s basic, it focuses on your fitness.

The Luxe is easy to use and provides accurate step and heart rate tracking, as well as access to daily stats and more detailed data via the Fitbit app. Even during strenuous exercise, heart rate tracking is fast and accurate, comparable to a sports watch.

With no inbuilt GPS, you’ll have to use the accelerometer or your phone’s GPS, which, granted, isn’t ideal for younger kids but fine for teens who are glued to their smartphones.

If you can live without GPS, the Huawei Watch Fit Elegant is an alternative. While it has a similar design to the Fitbit Luxe and a dazzling AMOLED display, it is substantially less expensive. The Fitbit Luxe may have the advantage due to its developed Fitbit app and better user experience.

                Fitbit Ace 3

A final suggestion here for kids. The Fitbit Ace 3 is a dedicated fitness tracker for kids aged 6 and above that tracks activity and sleep. It’s entertaining, durable, and waterproof, so it can withstand almost any situation. Plus it has a long battery life of approximately 8 days.

Essentially, the Ace 3 is an improvement on its predecessor, with a clearer display and longer battery life (versus 5 for the Fitbit Ace 2). As well as shower and swim-friendly 50m water resistance.

It comes in two colours: dark blue with green accents and black with red accents. The screen is a monochrome PMOLED, and there are a lot of different watch faces to choose from, so no two Aces are the same.

Since the Fitbit Ace 3 is intended for kids, it doesn’t track everything an adult tracker does, so there’s no information on calories burnt or a way to track weight reduction, for example. Children over the age of 13 may monitor these activities if they register a basic Fitbit account, which is not available to children under the age of 13.

The Ace 3 monitors sleep, steps, exercise time, and active minutes in younger children. The latter employs a number of sensors to monitor a variety of activities, including leaping, trampolining, and sports, as well as traditional step counting. Perhaps the only downside is that there is no GPS to track their location.

Which Fitbit Device Should I Choose?

When it comes to making a decision about which Fitbit watch to choose, you have plenty of options and we have provided a detailed comparison here! However, if you are looking for a reliable fitness tracker, then we would suggest Fitbit Charge 4 for its water-resistant, GPS tracking capabilities. It won’t weigh your wrist down, and even though it is not a new tracker, it is still a stylish option.

                  Google buys Fitbit

If you want a smartwatch that does it all, then we would recommend the brand new Fitbit Sense because it gives you access to all the latest tech and looks stylish on your wrist. It’s an advanced option that helps you to put your health first and offers a detailed analysis of how you are functioning every day. When you couple it with the free six-month premium access on the companion app, you can be sure to know how your performance is affecting your overall health goals.

Whichever Fitbit you end up choosing, you will get access to a device that will help you get fitter and allow you to stay in touch even when you are on the move. Order yours today and start planning your next fitness adventure!

If you’d like to weigh Fitbit up against an alternative, check out our suggestions.
