The Fitbit Luxe may not immediately strike you as an outdoor sports watch. But it depends on your sport. After a few weeks of wearing the Luxe, I see it as a fitness tracker with massive value for those who are into either at-home workouts or cardio workouts out on the sidewalks and trails. And because of the Luxe look and price, it may also appear as a lighter watch, less suited to extreme exercise and exertion. But again, this depends on your chosen sports.
Who is the Fitbit Luxe perfect for?
- Anyone looking for a basic fitness tracker on a budget.
- People who love at-home workouts: whether you have a pool, treadmill, stationary bike, or gym/mat/weight area, the Fitbit Luxe can track your activity.
- Those who prefer an outdoor workout. With the underwater rating, this does exclude extreme water sports. However, if you are a cyclist, runner/jogger, hiker, or walker/speed-walker, you can rely on your Luxe for comfort, a reliable battery, and other items I will get into more.

Design
The Luxe is a small, stylish, and comfortable tracker. Sometimes, you barely notice it is on your wrist until it vibrates to deliver a smart notification. And while the screen is a bit narrow, the rectangle-shaped screen is still easy to read and clear. If you are on the hunt for an outdoor workout tracker for runs or bike rides (i.e., city workouts!), you’ll be happy to know the display on the Fitbit Luxe is incredibly crisp and clear under bright sunlight.
The watch comes in a few different color combinations, some more feminine in appearance and some darker or more masculine.
Luxe Features
Fitness Features
The Luxe only lacks one feature that outdoor fitness enthusiasts may miss: an altimeter. You cannot track floors climbed. However, you may have your phone with you anyways, which could track your floors or elevation gained.
You will get the basic fitness tracking features on a Luxe, like a pedometer, calorie counter, heart rate monitor, and Sp02 readings. And while you are tracking workouts, your Fitbit will also calculate distances.
I rate this fitness tracker as a perfect lowkey watch as it tracks basic workouts you can easily do from home or at a gym: walking, running, biking, swimming, gym workouts, and treadmill workouts. And they all fit on your Luxe, meaning you don’t have to edit your saved activities.
And as long as you have your phone on you during your workouts, and your phone’s location settings turned on, the Fitbit app will track your bike, run, or walking routes via GPS.
Other Features of the Fitbit Luxe
Some other handy features from the Luxe which can make a bike ride or run a lot more convenient are smart notifications, a stopwatch, alarms, and do not disturb mode. Other health features offered on the Luxe include sleep tracking and women’s health monitoring. The menstrual tracking can even be combined with the sleep tracking data, or third-party app data, to give women an even better picture of their cycles or reproductive health.
The Luxe can also help to manage stress, mental health, and physical health all at once. The tracker will provide you with reminders to move after specific lengths of inactivity and can remind you to breathe. There is even a relaxation mode that has you breathing slowly and in a rhythmic pattern for two minutes.
Battery Life
If you’re working out and tracking the workouts once a day, your Fitbit Luxe battery will last about two days. With no fitness tracking, you can expect about three days. This also takes into account the Luxe’s sleep tracking and constant heart-rate monitoring. This tracker does get a full charge reasonably quickly in about two hours.
Should you Buy a Fitbit Luxe?
If you are beginning to get into the world of smartwatches, wearable technology, and fitness tracking, then yes, the Fitbit Luxe is a perfect first piece of wrist tech. With the Luxe’s essential features, you can learn how to start tracking health statistics through runs, walks, and bike rides or by just working out on a mat in your basement.
I would also recommend this fitness tracker to anyone looking for something reliable yet affordable. This is a compact and lightweight yet durable smart fitness tracker. You’ll barely feel it on your wrist as you perform other daily tasks like groceries, picking up kids, or going to work. With the small size of the Luxe, you will miss out on some bells and whistles those larger smartwatches have, but depending on your workouts, you may not even care or miss the other features.
