The 2021 Polar Vantage M2 is the second version of the 2018 Vantage M, a popular mid-range multisport smartwatch. The Polar Vantage watches are primarily marketed to people who want a sports watch without the high price tag. Read on to find out more about this second-generation Polar Vantage M!
Want to Know More About the Polar Vantage M2?
If you are looking for a good quality multisports watch, then the Polar Vantage M2 is definitely worth your consideration. This watch continues to utilise a series of buttons to access the menus rather than opting for a touchscreen. Many wearers find this preferable during workouts, especially outdoors or without water. With accurate heart rate monitoring, fitness planning, and sleep tracking, this watch helps you develop and maintain healthy routines without swapping devices.
Design
The Polar Vantage M2 is an elegant watch that builds on the features of its predecessor well. The watch’s design hasn’t changed too much, so it is still distinctly a Polar Vantage. However, the M2 comes with a stylish steel bezel detail. The watch looks less like a sports watch and more like a regular fashion watch, which isn’t bad.
When purchasing a watch that reflects your taste, the Vantage M2 has an advantage as there are more options. You will be able to choose from new colours for the watch face and the detachable band. As with other versions of Polar watches, you can buy new straps (either from Polar or a compatible version) to make the Vantage M2 truly unique to you. The updated model also has a nice new button detail that sets this version apart from the original.
Feature Upgrades
Watch customisation has been improved so that you can select which widget/dashboards you want to be able to see easily. Polar has also added music controls and a weather forecast to help you plan your outdoor exercises. Not surprisingly, many of the new or upgraded features focus on health by adding a weekly training summary widget/dashboard, FuelWise. This dashboard creates reminders about hydration and nutrition based on your past workouts and nutrition energy sources, providing a breakdown of your carbs, proteins, and fats.
Is the Polar Vantage M2 Battery Life Good Enough to Keep Track of Your Sports?
Polar decided to stick with the same battery for the M2 that was housed within the original Vantage M. This isn’t a bad decision as the battery gives users up to 5 days of life when in watch mode with continuous heart rate monitoring in progress. If you opt to use the GPS function and heart rate monitoring, then the battery life falls to around 30 hours.
The Polar Vantage M2 comes with many new upgraded features, and you will probably be excited to know that power-saving modes are one of them. No one wants to be charging their watch every day, and you certainly don’t want to be worrying that your watch won’t make it to the end of the workout. Luckily, the Vantage M2 power-saving modes mean that you can enjoy 100 hours of workout time if you are not connected to GPS.
Is the Polar Vantage M2 Good Value for Money?
This multisport watch is aimed at people with a mid-range budget to spend. When compared to similarly priced watches on the market, the Polar Vantage M2 certainly stands out. Whether you are already a Polar fan and want to upgrade your current device to something new, or you are looking for a new watch to help you keep track of your health and fitness, the Polar Vantage M2 offers excellent value for money.
One drawback of the Vantage M2 is that the HR Bluetooth broadcasting feature is not yet available. It is scheduled to be available at some point during 2021. However, as it is available on other Polar models, it is unclear why it has not been available yet.
