Fitbit Rumors: What We Know So Far
So, what do we know about Fitbit’s upcoming wearables? Here are the top Fitbit rumors right now. Let us know what you think about each prediction in the comments!
The Ace 4
The Fitbit Ace range has been a long-standing go-to for parents worldwide. With optimized content for children aged 6 and over, these starter smartwatches teach young ones about fitness, technology, and health.
Unlike other smartwatches, the Ace range allows parents to monitor their children’s activity, and there’s no unsupervised internet access here. Only safe and appropriate fun!
The latest model in this range is the Fitbit Ace 3, but it was released over a year ago, in March 2021. Could it be time for a new model? Rumors are starting to flow about the potential Fitbit Ace 4.
The key updates we expect to see on the Fitbit Ace 4 include the following:
- More customizable content. The current model offers different watch faces, but we’d love to see a wider variety and perhaps customizable fonts too. This way, children could leave their own mark on the device.
- Additional apps. Right now, Ace 3 users can’t download any extra apps. This is to keep children safe, and we agree with this! However, some additional health or game apps could take the wearable to the next level.
- New bands/straps. The current straps for the Ace 3 are colorful and match the watch perfectly. But reports are coming in that the buckle tends to break easily. We’d like to see a fix for the next model.
Hopefully, we’ll hear more about this wearable before the end of the year! Until then, check out our full list of predictions for the Ace 4 to learn more.
Sustainable Accessories
Fitbit rumors aren’t always about new wearables! This team is consistently delivering new accessories for smartwatches too.
The leading fitness watch brand is expected to release a range of sustainable accessories in the future. These rumors stem from Fitbit’s current steps in the eco-friendly direction. We’re already seeing new bands created from different materials, so a collection of sustainable accessories isn’t out of the question.

The brand is currently offering Vegan Leather bands, allowing you to reduce your use of animal-based products. These bands come in four muted colors and are compatible with the Versa 3, Versa 3, Sense, and Sense 2. We’ll likely see these available across all Fitbit options in the future.

Fitbit & Google Software
Fitbit and Google have recently joined forces to combine and optimize their strengths. Users can already purchase the Google Pixel Watch on the Fitbit store, and many Fitbit products feature the ‘Fitbit by Google’ tagline.
But what’s next for these two tech players?
Since both brands have recently released new watches (Pixel Watch, Versa 4, and Sense 2), it’s too early to know if any other models are in the works.
The recent Pixel Watch release has been a long-awaited event. This all-new smartwatch offers many Fitbit features, despite the fact it’s not a branded ‘Fitbit’ watch. For example, the Pixel Watch features Fitbit-powred health apps. The watch also comes with six months of Fitbit Premium, proving how integrated the watches are.
Pixel Watch fitness tools include:
- Sleep tracking
- Guided workouts
- EKG readings (FDA approved)
- Daily readiness scores
- Meditation
Sadly, there aren’t any stress or temperature trackers yet.
However, a Fitbit and Google watch collaboration could be on the cards in the future. Whether this appears as a Pixel Watch 2 or a completely new design, we’ll have the latest updates when it happens. It’s likely that the future of functionality will be built into this watch, and this will probably be the main focus for both brands in the future.
The Pixel Watch is currently an Android-only watch, so perhaps future models could offer iOS capabilities too. Only time will tell!
Fitbit Charge 6 Rumors
Though we’ve just received new Fitbit models, the brand is already working on the Charge 6. This fitness tracker is set to be identical to the previous Charge 5 model, but the watch will include more sophisticated tech.
Predictions for this watch include (from 9to5Google):
- A body response sensor
- Continual stress management from cEDA sensors
- Altimeter for floor tracking and elevation
- Overall improvements to GPS
Other possible updates could include health app syncing, incident detection, and additional on-wrist payment methods.

Fitbit App Updates
The Fitbit Premium app is a perfect companion for all wearable users. But this app could undergo a complete makeover soon.
Smartwatch experts are predicting demand for more in-depth metrics as users experiment with the latest Fitbit models. This might lead to a more comprehensive app for athletes or those serious about their fitness journey.
The app currently offers activity tracking, exercise tracking, 24/7 heart rate, sleep tracking, nutrition, and a space to connect with friends. Though this is a well-rounded app, it could go further and include stress monitoring and SpO2 – if sensors are introduced to all smartwatch models.
Fitbit is here for health and fitness needs, but as other brands up their offerings, Fitbit needs to step up and compete. That being said, Fitbit wearables are ideal for fitness beginners, and when starting your journey, your bloody oxygen levels might not be on your mind…
The Takeaway
So, what do you make of the 2022 Fitbit rumors? Smartwatch predictions come and go, but they’re a great way to estimate the features and models brands focus on. Hopefully, it won’t be too long until we receive an update about new content.
